The Ethics Club conducted a study visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo as part of the “Open Court Day” activity, organized on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. Students participated in the visit, divided into three groups. The students were welcomed by the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Nexhmi Rexhepi, Judge Ms. Remzije Istrefi-Peci, Legal Advisor Ms. Suzana Krasniqi, and Constitutional-Legal Advisor Mr. Bardh Bokshi.
During the visit, participants received detailed information about the significance of International Human Rights Day, the history and functioning of the Constitutional Court, the process of selecting constitutional judges, the authorized parties entitled to submit referrals, and the application of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights in the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
Students expressed particular interest in the right of individuals to address the Constitutional Court, the role and mandate of constitutional judges, and the differences between the Constitutional Court and other courts in the country.
The Ethics Club remains committed to providing practical experiences and professional opportunities for students of the Faculty of Law.
