During yesterday, in the Professors’ Hall of the Faculty of Law, the Ethics Club of the Faculty of Law carried out the next activity within the project “Students’ Mental Health During the Exam Period,” a debate on the topic: “What are the factors affecting the deterioration of students’ mental health during the exam period?”.

The invited panelists were: Ms.Luljeta Plakolli - Kasumi - Vice Dean for international relations and student affairs, Mr.Elton Bahtiri - Vice Rector for development and quality at UP, Mr.Imri Zabeli - clinical psychologist - specialist, Mr.Sami Rexhepi - director - psychiatrist at the Mental Health Center, Mr.Kristjan Halilaj - clinical psychologist and Ms.Behare Bojaxhiu – clinical psychologist at QSHM Prishtina.


The debate was moderated by the Deputy Coordinator of the Ethics Club Dijellëza Selmani, who first introduced the panelists to the attending students, after which the Coordinator of the Ethics Club Leotrim Pajaziti presented the overall work of the Club and the activities of the recent mental health project.

After introducing the panelists and their professional backgrounds, the discussion on the topic was opened, aiming to identify the factors influencing the deterioration of students’ mental health during this period of study. This goal was achieved, and at the end recommendations were given to the Vice Rector for development and quality at UP Mr.Elton Bahtiri, who committed to working on addressing them. One of the key recommendations was the establishment of polyclinics where students could seek help in case of mental health deterioration.


At the end of the activity, certificates were awarded to students who participated in the one-day “Student Mental Health Camp 2022” for their contribution and participation, followed by a reception organized by the organizers.


We thank the panelists: Ms.Luljeta Plakolli - Kasumi, Mr.Elton Bahtiri, Mr.Imri Zabeli, Mr.Sami Rexhepi, Mr.Kristjan Halilaj and Ms.Behare Bojaxhiu for sharing their knowledge, for the fruitful and necessary discussion, as well as for their support, and all participating students who contributed with their questions and comments.
